F. A. Q.

Listed here are the top 15 questions I get all the time about hiring Dean Creation photography services. It can’t get more common then these! I hope they help.

Should you decide to fix an appointment, read through them so that we can spend the meeting time really getting into the meat of your wedding goals! ;)

1) We are interested to find out more about your service, how can we do that?

Pop over to my online gallery and if you like what you see, drop me a hello and we can chat over the phone or over coffee. Know what you want but afraid of spending too much? A discussion will help us iron out how you can have your (good quality wedding) cake AND eat it too!

2) Yes, we certainly are up for quality. Which brings us to, are you professionally qualified?

If you mean ‘did I graduate from photography?’ – The honest truth is that I didn’t. I graduated with an honours degree in Information Technology & Business Information Systems. I furthered my studies and took on Interactive Multimedia and the subject I did really well in, is Design. Somehow through my hobby of collecting beautiful pictures it seemed I have a calling in this field but, as you know, we never really quieten down to listen to our hearts. Hence it got postponed until much later. I do qualify professionally however through the books of my clients who are satisfied with my service enough to pay me professional fees. Feel free to read the testimonials!

I frequently attend regional classes given by the best photographers in the world to receive the latest knowledge, style, trends, to further unleash my potential. Lastly, I believe through hard work, anything can be achieved! I suppose you could say, Jackie Chan never graduated from drama school, aye?

3) That’s quite a different background you came from. Anything else interesting we should know?

Thanks, I believe things happen for a reason. I bought my first camera only when I started taking up diving. Within the first 8 months I spoiled the camera shutter button to the bewilderment of the camera repair professionals. They exclaimed it’s the first time they’d come across such a case! I fall hard and fast in love with photography, often spending more time in a week shooting then, well, working (sshh).

4) So how are you like in person and on the job?

I’m quite a joker and pretty playful as a person. I also really appreciate beauty –in music, opera, even beer. I guess those 2 traits help a lot in my work (playfulness and appreciation of beauty – not the beer part), but on the job I prefer to stay quiet, observant and fast on my feet. That’s the advantage of being smaller in size! ^^”

5) How soon must we indicate our interest in booking your services?

I work on a first-come-first-serve basis, so take your time to decide but don’t take too long!

6) How can we make a booking?

I want to make sure you feel secure about my services, so it is best locked in with a 50% deposit. Once that is in, I will dedicate the time and equipment for your big day.

7) Can I know what your style & coverage is?

I prefer to focus on the couple and their journey through their big event, captured mostly through a photojournalistic style.

8) Do you help us edit the photos?

At your service! Can’t do only half the job, can we? I will edit the photos with the right effects that portray your special moments in a timeless, classic manner. Tell me any preferences you might have, and of course, your dateline.

9) I must say, your prices are not low. How do we work around that?

Well, I do offer packages as low as $499 and as high as $4,999. It really depends on what you want and I will do my best to match that, taking into consideration preparation and other expenses thrown into the mix to ensure customer satisfaction from professional quality photographs. I also provide other tidbits that help you get the most value from your investment, depending on the package. ;)

10) Where are you based? And will you travel to cover my wedding?

My humble studio is based in the sunny isle of Singapore, but I love overseas shoots as well. I will cater to destination weddings, although I haven’t been out of Asia yet. Any takers?

11) How do you charge for foreign assignments?

On top of the service fee, foreign assignments do include flight and accommodation cost. Nothing too fancy-smancy, simply a decent flight and a comfortable and safe place for me (and the equipment) to sleep. Your big day can’t call for a sleepy or cranky photographer, or worse still, a photographer with missing equipment!

12) My relative / friend is very into photography and he just bought a digital camera, I hope you don’t mind if he takes photos together with you?

Sure, those moments are important for everyone. However I would appreciate it if I have easy access to the couple, at the right place, and the right time. This means that I cannot compete for these angles with your relative/friend and spend my time and your money wrestling for the right position instead of capturing that perfect shot!

I am a professional and my aim is to serve you nothing less than the best, and with the best, I will need all the co-operation that I can get from everyone.

13) What if you fall ill or *gasp* get rendered somehow useless during our wedding? What do we do?!

You call my mom first thing. Ok, kidding. On a slightly more serious note, I have a group of full-time professional photographers as backup. Should anything happen…. which hasn’t before in history – I will have an equally or better skilled professional stand-in and deliver just as excellent a job :)

14) Noted about your mom. On a lighter note, what if my little nephew chews on your memory card or well, renders your lens useless?!

What a curious little monster! Well, if that really were to happen, just to assure you – I carry around 2 cameras, 2 flashes, 4 lenses and more than 2 memory cards. That *ahem* explains all my muscles. So yes, the equipment and I are backed up!

15) I’ve got more questions that aren’t covered here…

Glad to answer them. I welcome you to a cuppa to discuss all your concerns with me. If you are overseas, skype, MSN and other online mediums will help us in making the best arrangement for your wedding!

Soli Deo Gloria.
